Robert C. Martinez

President & CEO

Robert C. Martinez is President and CEO of Titan Rock Exploration & Production, LLC. Mr. Martinez has 20 years of experience developing and optimizing oil and gas assets throughout the United States, including the East Texas/North Louisiana Haynesville Shale and Permian Basin.

Prior to joining Titan Rock, Mr. Martinez held key leadership roles at public and private operating companies such as XTO Energy, EXCO Resources and Compass Production Partners.

Mr. Martinez has a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and is registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.  Robert is currently Chairman of Dallas Society of Petroleum Engineers, serves on Texas A&M's AggieSTEM Advisory board as well as on the Boys Scouts - Circle Ten Council Advisory Board. 

Matthew Hatcher 

Vice President - Finance

Mr. Hatcher joined Sowell & Co. in 2015 and serves as Vice President – Oil & Gas. Mr. Hatcher is responsible for overseeing the firm’s oil and gas investments including serving as Vice President – Finance to Titan Rock Exploration & Production. Sowell & Co. founded Titan Rock with management in 2017 and owns a controlling interest.


Prior to joining Sowell & Co., Mr. Hatcher was a Senior Financial Analyst in the Corporate Finance and Investor Relations group at EXCO Resources.


Mr. Hatcher received his undergraduate degree from St. Edwards University and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.

Richard W. Henson

Director of Land

Mr. Henson joined Titan Rock E&P officially in 2018 and serves as Director of Land. He has been part of the Titan Rock management team since inception in a contract capacity via Henson Land Services which he founded in 2007. Prior to joining Titan Rock, he served as Head of Land for Business Development at Compass Production partners and EXCO Resources. Mr. Henson is a member of  the American Association of Professional Landmen (RPL - certification) as well as serves on numerous professional and philanthropic boards across the DFW area. 

Matthew Handren

Senior Operations Engineer

Mr. Handren joined Titan Rock E&P  in 2018 and serves as a Senior Operation Engineer. Prior to joining Titan Rock, he worked in similar technical capacities at Scout Energy Partners, Compass Production Partners and EXCO Resources. Mr. Handren received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2008.  He has since worked on multiple fields across East Texas and North Louisiana with an emphasis on optimization of fracture stimulations and production operations.
